Just a heads up to anyone who lives on Talus Ridge there is a large group (5-6) adult raccoons that have been rummaging around the Handy park neighborhood at night. They found their way into my garage last week to get into my dog food, and came back again last night in my backyard.

once they realize you don't have available food, they won't make your house part of their nightly rounds.

This is how you get back at those loud neighbors......
drop a bag of dog food against the back of the backyard fence.....
<not that I have ever done anything like that>

Is that what is tearing up my front lawn? They dig the grass up to get grubs underneath? Just happened in the last two days (nights, I mean).

They've been active since Fall. My lawn and my neighbors lawn were both destroyed by them a few months ago and I saw a few others in the area back then. They must be getting active again with Spring coming.

Ahhh, so its the coons that are tearing up peoples lawns? I never knew they did that. I thought it may have been turkeys that were doing that.
I have spoken with a few residents in Talus Ridge who have had run-ins with this pack of coons. Maybe its time we run them out of town to S50.

We weren't sure what it was, either! My backyard got hit a little, but my neighbor's kept getting worse and worse each day until almost all his front lawn was torn up. So he put down flour one night to get some footprints and that's how we found out what was going on. It was quite puzzling at first.
