I'm watching the Channel 13 news and they just had a snipet about some walls being torn down at the Palladio to allow for an expansion of a building to open in the Spring of 2016. Anyone want to take a guess at the store? I am hoping it is an Apple Store!

I saw that news report, but it said they were knocking down part of a building to expand it. Does an Apple store need that much room?

It was also announced on CNN Money earlier. My above post was not a lucky guess.

Folsom’s Palladio at Broadstone shopping complex recently lost a country-laced eatery but will pick up a close cousin of the upscale Nordstrom retail chain next year.
Nordstrom Inc. announced Wednesday that it will open a Nordstrom Rack store next year in the Palladio center. The 33,000-square-foot store is scheduled to open in spring 2016.
Nordstrom Rack is the discount clearance arm of the upscale, Seattle-based retailer.

Yep, it's official: Nordstrom Rack to replace Toby Keith's
The high-end retailer announced plans to open a new outpost of their off-price division, 'Nordstrom Rack' in the space recently vacated by Toby Keith's I Love this Bar and Grill, in Palladio Center.
The 33,000 square foot store is scheduled to open in spring of 2016.
"We're excited to be a part of this terrific location that will enable us to bring customers in Folsom many of their favorite Nordstrom brands at great prices," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. "This additional location will be more convenient for those who have been making the drive to shop our stores in Roseville and Sacramento."
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom, Inc., offering customers a wide selection of on-trend apparel, accessories and shoes at an everyday savings of 30-70 percent off regular prices. The Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com, as well as specially purchased items from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom. The Rack is designed to provide the ultimate treasure hunt to style-savvy customers.
"Palladio has made many new retailer announcements this past year, but announcing Nordstrom Rack is not only fabulous, it fulfills a daily request we receive from our customers. It also continues to show the viability of Folsom and the surrounding area," comments Gloria Wright, Palladio's general manager.
What do you think? Is it what you hoped for?

I'm thrilled. I'm not a shopper but there are times I'd like to pick up a better quality piece of clothing without going to Roseville or Sac.

Sigh....another non-unique store.
I do like to get discounts, but I don't really enjoy sorting through all the junk to find a single gem... I never go to the discounts stores already in town.
It's not like Palladio is a destination with lots of great shopping. It's more of a once in awhile type place except for the movie theater & WF. I still prefer going to Roseville where I can hit multiple shops at the same time.

The 33,000 square foot store is scheduled to open in spring of 2016.
It takes 15 months to strip out that store and put a bunch of racks with clothes and shoes in?

I couldn't care less about Nordstrom Rack, but I'm happy for the people who do care - which is pretty much my attitude towards the vast majority of establishments at Palladio. I'm not the right "demographic" for malls. Besides the occasional movie with my wife, all I really do there is stroll around, which is nice. I don't shop.
