A friend took me here for lunch today. Neither of us had been before and we enjoyed our meal. Portions were plentiful. We each wanted a half rack of ribs, and Molly recommended that we get the meal for two (including four side dishes and two beverages), which worked out to be a better deal. I ended up taking home leftovers.
The ribs were meaty.
I enjoyed the sauce.
The baked beans were unique and a bit spicy; I loved the flavor but unfortunately I have to watch spicy food.
I've never had fried corn before and it was also very tasty.
My friend had the beans and the freshly prepared cole slaw (they make each batch as ordered).
Service was excellent; thank you, Molly!
One issue: the website needs to be updated, but the owners forgot their login information and can't figure out how to get in to make the necessary changes. Had my friend not seen an article on Bouchane's in Sactown Magazine I wouldn't have known you can dine in (website has a take-out menu and info on catering). Apparently pricing also has to be updated. If you're a techie and have any ideas for this mom and pop store, consider contacting them.
Edit: Apparently they spell it "Boucanes" without the apostrophe. The article in sactown mag used the apostrophe. *sigh Yeah, I'm a stickler for those kinds of things.
