Props to anyone starting a new business. Double for a non-chain non-franchise. Triple in this particular shopping center.

yes, because I read every post on the forum very carefully.
my comment was a little tongue in cheek actually. I miss Roma's. thought it was one of the better pizza places in Folsom at the time.
good luck to the rib joint!!

It's being opened by a local family. One of their daughters just graduated from FHS with my daughter. It is nice to see a locally owned place come to town. We sure don't need any more chains. Fingers crossed for their success.

Agreed. I'll definitely check them out. Always prefer local over chain.

Sorry. I thought you were serious.
Definitely will try them out and support a local place.

I heard they just opened up for business.
I'm gonna have to check this place out. I do love some good ribs. I miss Roma's, so I really hope the Piggyback is good and lasts.
I'm glad Rice Express has managed to hang in there. I heard rumours that an Asian Food Market might move in to the remaining half of Ralph's/Albertson's.
Keeping my fingers crossed. I'll report back on the ribs when I get a chance to try them.

We tried it out last week and we'll be going back. The ribs were very good, as was the slaw. Only two issues we had, both easily fixable. First - we weren't offered any sauce with our take out order! Got to have sauce if you're having ribs, imho. Second, we ordered a family meal, which came with a choice of three sides - the aforementioned slaw, some ranch beans and some corn bread: unfortunately the "family" portion of corn bread was still a grand total of one corn bread muffin. They should probably tweak that up to like maybe four muffins for a family meal.
Other than that the place looked great, staff was pleasant and helpful. Once they work out the bugs I think this place might become a nice little go-to for ribs and smoked meats!

I went to Piggy Back this week. Sides were good, ribs were great, sauce was excellent. My only complaint is that they don't offer BBQ chicken as an entrée. You can get a BBQ chicken salad, but not the meat by itself. Peculiar for a BBQ place...but as my son told me, there is no chicken in their name!

We took some ribs to go last night and although they weren't smoked they were decent enough. I hope they can make a go of it and if they can figure out how to tap in on the traffic at the lake in the summer they have a potential gold mine.
