The recent rains have increased Folsom Lake levels to approximately 20% of capacity, up from 15% only days ago.  Though far from being out of the woods, it is a promising start, as more rain is predicted for tonight, and after a Christmas reprieve, another storm is expected for next week.

Additionally, and perhaps more importantly, the Sierra snow pack is at 111% of average for this time of year.

State water supply forecaster Steve Nemeth offers words of caution saying, "We've been fooled by above average Decembers before."

The National Weather Service is predicting the El Nino through the winter and into early spring, bringing more rain along the way.

While it may not be time to celebrate, things are looking up.

Steve - Where is the signed engineered stamp which shows this? How do we know its not just one of our ubiquitous sewer leaks causing the inflow into the lake?  :BREAKDANCE: :headbang:

15 foot rise in the lake since Dec 21 . That is a lot-   I will have to get to old Salmon falls to see if it is underwater yet...

Sac be ( I know you might or might not get to see it) says 18 billion gallons inflow in two days... the maths works out with the CDEC data.  http://www.sacbee.co...le51491975.html

For Maestro's benefit I will do a visual by Saturday as I have markers...  would not want to use REAL Data as it is likely bogus in her world...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.
