Folsom Lake is now holding about 828,000 acre feet of water, which is about 85% of total capacity and 113% of average.

Last year at this time, the lake was at about 55% of capacity.

The lake level usually peaks around the beginning of June, with most of the Sierra snow pack melting away.

We may not be out of the drought, but it's so much better than last year.

Just a perspective--- The lake was the lowest in decades on December 4 2015.... 135,561 acre feet and elevation of 348 ft  versus the current 828,111 acre feet and elevation of 452.19 ft...   so the lake has increased 6 fold since December 4-  but a more understandable  number is that is has Increased by 103.5 ft since that time...

It is literally - almost full...

I shall miss what is under water now and only wish I had discovered it sooner and had longer to linger and observe... but on the high side I (regretfully - yet really) I hope that we will not see these treasures for another 40 years...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

the even better news is that even the central and southern Sierra also experienced a "March miracle" and are at or above averages.  that is really good news!
