If any of you miss the old La Fiesta, give Salsa's a try. We used to go La Fiesta once a week or so, but the prices started going up and the quality started going down a few years ago. We went to Salsa's today and had the regular carnitas burrito (5.50) and 2 tacos (1.90 ea). Everything was tasty. The burrito had a good ratio of meat to beans/rice and the carnitas were flavorful and were nicely griddled. They also have serve yourself chips and salsa. The seating isn't too cramped and they're constantly cleaning up. They just opened up a few months ago, and one of the former cashiers from La Fiesta is the owner. I hope they do well. They're in the old Felipe's spot on Prairie City Rd.

Thanks for the tip! We, too, miss the old La Fiesta. I'll check it out.

I dont get the La Fiesta comments. Been eating for years and never noticed a decline in the food. Show me a restaurant in town that hasnt raised prices in the past couple of years.

We can absolutely agree that La Fiesta's quality went downhill in a hurry a couple of years ago. We all know how awesome they were at the beginning and for several years after...then something changed. I could go into detail but I think most folks that have been here a while have their own similar stories.

For me, it's not about the prices. There was a succession of guys running the place; Manolo, then Chava then Ulysses. The quality and consistency remained the same. Then one day we went in and there were a lot of new people, things changed. The chips were different, there was water in my burrito 
(that occurs when one does not drain the salsa before putting in the tortilla), and last two times we went they got my wife's order wrong, and they over-charged us on one. We just gave up.

We love Salsa's! It's our new "go to" Mexican place. It's funny, my wife and I were recently thinking that it reminded us of La Fiesta in the "old" days.

I hope so.  I have been so disappointed with Mexican food quality.  We need a great Mexican food place here.

I'll give Salsa's a try.  I only discovered La Fiesta last year, and think it's good.  But I'll compare.

Agreed. La Fiesta, Folsom and Roseville, has pretty good food. I would imagine it must be tought to keep the same price each and every year.
A well run restaurant typically has food costs between 25 and 35 percent. i.e. Taco $1.90, the food cost: 48-67 cents. Normally, very poor quality ingredients.
I prefer quality food (ingredients) if it's possible. Just my personal opinion.
