On a walk around NightHawk (or whatever the street is that goes around the water), we saw two adults and a kid fishing in a canoe. When we yelled at them if they had caught anything, one of their poles got slammed and another guy shows us a huge bass they had caught earlier.

There's some whoppers in there. I thought there might only be some little perch or crappie. What a little jewel that lake/pond/whatever is!

I would not eat any fish taken out of that water.

Just saying, those fish were huge that I saw them pull out of there.

When you bring my chips by, I'll show you. I still can't believe how big the fish were that those guys were pulling out of there.

Someone from Fish and Game used to live in the area and after one of those Cal Expo sporting shows they took some of the fish from the large display tanks and put them in the pond... xmas.gif

Seriously, those fish were pretty darn big. It would not be a bad outing.

I don't know where this is either. I know there is a pond with a bike path around it that is by Lake Natoma drive (across the street from the Lake Natoma Elementry School), is that it?
Why wouldn't you eat any fish out of it?

I just started fishing last summer. I am anxious to go this year. I saw guys pulling bass out of Lake Natoma by willow creek last year. Is that not safe to eat either?

I have no idea yet where to go at folsom lake

I got a porta-bote for Christmas and I can't wait to start using it.

Msgt, think they have been talking about the small pond/lake just East of the Folsom High School.

It's the big pond the Marsh Hawk encircles, just off McAdoo across from the undeveloped portion of Livermore Park

If you want to catch fish to feed your family then go to the store and buy some. Or you can learn to fish a big fishery like Folsom Lake, Lake Natoma, or any of the other fantastic fisheries we have here in No-Cal. Some of our local ponds were onced owned by Aerojet at one time. The water is suspected of being polluted. I have talked to several people, including members of City Counsel who have confirmed this. For health reasons you should not eat fish from these ponds. Plus, none of these pond are supported by the Department of Fish and Game. They are not regulated or stocked. It only takes a few people to ruin these ponds. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are going to fish the local ponds practice catch and release. Especialy during the spring time, when females are getting ready to spawn and are easy to catch.
