We've been informed by our representation that the city has also tried to apply a statue of limitation (90 days) - stating that we're are out of time and out of luck with our case. For having a solid case, we have to wonder why they've gone to this lowly defense at the last moment. Fortunately, we did submit in time and our attorney has found much case law proving that there is no statue applying to first amendment rights. What will be of interest to the press when we return is that if we were to loose - what we have been selling in the form of novelty straws, veils and such for wedding parties (we've since added at the request of customers nearly 3 months back which we've all seen at wedding parties) the city has not policed since we are in litagation (breaking their own ordinance as they know we have these items); interesting enough - we have had no problems what so ever as everyone was made to believe as the councel lead everyone to believe (bad people coming to Folsom to cause trouble while purchasing things for their wedding and pre-parties) . There are many other merchants on these street who have confided in us that they too have items which would cause them to be cited. Honestly, the ordinance came about interesting enough right in line with the city elections - things becoming more clear? We will appeal if need be, however. Wish us luck - do keep an eye on the media as we will be opening up more after the hearing.

John is on vacation from what I have heard.
Why should one be closed ? one is general info and banter and the other is more immediate a will likely die after the court situation...

Who cares if there are two anyway ? We have many other topics that are similar..

Choose NOT TO READ them if you dont like the topic.. OK >?>>

Went to the Peddlar's Fair today on Sutter Street. We purposely went into Ms.Teaz to meet the owners. We met and talked with Misty; she is a very open and friendly person. We toured the store and found nothing shocking. They were doing pretty good business also, even though people were suppose to be out shopping on Sutter Street.

Nothing was settled yet in court and they go back in January for further hearings. It is a "tempest in a teapot."

Glad to hear you stopped by and said hi, Sam and Misty are good people - I wish the nay sayers would stop by and check it out so they can see its not the "oh so evil" place they make it out to be in their minds.

I for one am glad there's a shop like that in town - my wife and I are a healthy normal couple and we like what they have to offer. I guess those who've given up on their spouses or love all together (for that matter) would be opposed to it - but I wish they'd think about us others out there that DO benefit from such a shop before they try and deny its availability to all of us.

I met Sam and Misty nearly a year ago, before they opened their shop. I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. As a parent, concerned citizen, I wanted to see first hand, and hear it from the owners, if they were opening a place that would be detrimental to the people of Folsom.

I had heard and read so many bad things about their new shop. Perverts, porno, bestiality, these were the things they were accused of bringing to Folsom.

I found Sam and Misty to be regular folks, who had worked hard and saved their money, and who had a concept for a fun shop that would liven up Sutter Street and hopefully, make them a living, too.

They weren't breaking any laws, nor were they doing anything immoral or unethical.

I am so glad that they weathered the storm, and that most people have come to accept them, or at least, have left them alone.

I happen to think that Sutter Street is a little more interesting, and a little more lively, thanks to people like Sam, Misty, and others who are trying to breathe newe life into that once-dying area.
