I knew that side of the raleys shopping center was suppose to be a French Resturant but when I saw the sign yesterday say The Ravine Bar & Grill I knew the plans were changed but I know nothing about this restaurant. It could still be French but I'm not sure because Ravine is not French.

"The Ravine" isn't a very unique place for a restaurant. Makes it practically impossible to Google :\
The full name is the "Ravine Bar & Restaurant". That's pretty unique, and if you put that with "Folsom", you can google away. And get 5 hits, none of which are relevant.

There's a new "Asian Cuisine" restaurant getting ready there, too. Low expectations, but you never know. I forget the name, but I think it has "Sun" in it.

Yea the thought of a mix of Asian cuisine scares me, like 'Chinese-American' food.

China Sun Express!

to the contrary, I think Rice Express on Natoma Street near Blue Ravine is really the best Chinese food in Folsom. I think the owner must have experience in the produce market, because their vegetables are always fresh and superior. Love their food, never greasy, nice service too.

I agree. I always ask if they have a vegtable special like asparagus and it is always good. They are definitely the best here although not totally authentic and special.

The name is Sunny Garden Chinese. I love 3 chinese restaurants 1 is Rice Express, 2. is Rose Garden in Roseville, 3rd is Lincoln Chinese in Lincoln. Because their food tastes fresh and it's hot.

While not strictly on subject, Best chinese food ever is the "House of Nan King" in San Francisco.
The place is a dump, the tables are too small and too close together, the Wait staff is rude and the service is atrocious. They rush you in and out as fast as they can and will cut you off mid-order if they think you've ordered too much food.
That said, there is always a line out the door and we try to visit it every time we are in SF. The food is incredible.
Kind of a Chinese version of Sienfeld's "Soup Nazi". It's worth the abuse.

That is my favorite place, too. My husband and I call it House of Don King. Half the time the waitstaff doesn't even let you order. They'll say, "What? You're getting a chicken dish too? That guy there got one. I'm not getting that for you. You like shrimp? Good. You'll get shrimp." So now I don't even order, I just tell them that I like things spicy, love shrimp and chinese pork and let them bring me whatever they want. I'm never dissapointed.

Wow, I had forgotten about that. You are right, last time we went in they did the same thing to us. They've also told us we can't order noodles and rice, too many carbs. I remember another time the waitress just cut us off mid-order and told us that was enough food for us and walked away.
God I miss that place. Need to plan a trip back there soon. YUM!!!
