We are California Active Footwear & we're extremely excited to be here! We've just recently taken over The Shoe Shoppe in Folsom Square at the corner of Blue Ravine & East Bidwell, behind Carl's Jr. & between La Fiesta & Offside Soccer.
Tony & I (Spencer) have a combined 14 years of professional shoe fitting experience & knowledge between us, as well as being seasoned runners through our respective high school, collegiate, & competitive x-country & track careers. We've listened to our customers inquire for years about why there hasn't been a specialty running shoe store in the area since the demise of Fleet Feet Sports, El Dorado Hills.

Do you know where my fiance can start running races where he can get sponsered. His current best time for a marathon is 2:54:00 and he is 23 years old...He will be running boston next year but he was always wondering how people get sponsered?

I'm not in the market for "running" shoes per se, but I could use a good pair of walking/standing shoes. Do you carry those types of shoes as well? I'd love to get a good pair of walking/standing shoes for my narrow, high arched feet.

As for sponsorship, what exactly is he looking for? Shoe companies aren't going to sponsor someone with a 3 hour marathon...even women who run that time aren't going to get any type of deal. I have several sub-15 5ks and a 30:30 10k to my credit and there's no chance I'll be sponsored anytime soon. If he's just looking for a local running club, there are plenty of groups around Sacto including the Buffalo Chips, River City Rebels, Asics Aggies, Brooks Fleet Feet, etc. Zinsli (the first site I listed) has links to many groups around the area. Check 'em out!
