We used to live right behind a high school. I always really liked the sound of the games in the background. Very nostalgic.
And just like any other noise, once you're used to it you don't notice it anyway.

I went to a high school where the neighbors objected to stadium lights. As a result, we played our home games in the stadium of our biggest rivals. OUCH! I would say to those who complain - Suck it up for the kids....let them play/cheer for their school.....I went to CSUS, we didn't even have facilities like Vista....personally I think it's cool.

the bad thing about the po'd folks mad about the lights is they will drive their BMW's faster and more agressive until the shock wears off. the other thing is the lights will take some heat off the folks mad about the airplanes.
let there be lights

Well, are you classifying them as teenagers, too? Or have you moved on to thugs and scumbags being classified in certain age divisions or all age divisions?
Careful, someone might say you are predjudiced against certain age groups!!!

R U kidding me!
The school had been planned for year’s way before the homes were built. And your right, it’s only for one or two hours a night . Next they will be asking the school to not use the field at all do to noise from the PE classes. I don’t buy it when they say “ we did not know it was going to be built” I know when I bought my home, I had to sign paperwork that stated that I knew about everything from Airplanes flying over, power lines, lack of water and/ or the flood risks. I hope the school stands up against any opponents of the lights.

uh--why did you target my quote about chipshots rantings against scumbags?
Shouldn't you have quoted the one about neighbors not liking the lights in their living rooms at 9pm while watching great tv shows like Jericho, Law and Order, Prison Break, CSI and all those great comercials for impotent guys like the ones about Viagra?

chipshots rantings against scumbags?
Hey, watch it...I'm an equal-opportunity ranter. I rant against a whole boatload of people, not just scumbags, so please be accurate in your assessment of my talents. Thanks.
I have opinions, you have opinions. We'll just call it even...is that OK ??

I would assume that lights will be used for practice not only for football, but what about every other outdoor sport. So it isn't 15-20 events, there will be quite a few. But come on, they would have known that when they bought their home. If they didn't then they are complete dolts! I absolutely don't believe this " I didn't know" blah, blah, blah......

Hey, complainers....Go buy a pair of binoculars and enjoy some free football. At least you wont have to deal with rude teenagers cutting in line at the snack bar

Personally, I may have a biased view on the subject, seeing as I actually go to Vista...
But I think lights and games should be allowed, so long as they're sure to turn them off after games. The football players currently have to go all the way to Sutter, and they spend about an hour or two of their afternoon just getting to Sutter and back. Furthermore, aren't games at your own school a classic part of the high school experience? If the lights were turned off when the field was not in use, students would benefit and homeowners wouldn't be inconvenienced.
