We have fairly simple problems in this town compared to the rest of the region and state. It was one of the great things about Folsom that convinced me to raise my family here. Embrace your teen's interest in drugs. If you shut them out they will only do it when your back is turned. You don't have to allow any experimentation, but acknowledge that your child is curious and must be informed. There are tons of websites out there to educate yourself if you weren't one of the "experimenters".

what they might do is get a second school mascott. a drug sniffing dog and have a student leader or teacher walk the dog around, since they don't have the policeman anymore
as far as parents embracing the problem, I would leave it to study and not doing drugs as a family
as far as smart kids doing well even while doing drugs, I would bet the smart kids who don't do drugs get higher grades and in my mind the race for success in life begins with how you perform in high school, since good college selection is a growing problem
I have to modify my idea that the person who works the hardest and is straight has more success cause with the new ideas the folks who work hard and make lots of money in the future will have to give it back to the government.

There needs to be some undercover operation done to find out the real story.
How do you know for sure she is straight? Can FHS students go off campus for lunch?

She was non-American and just from the way she spoke about it I was certain she wasn't in that crowd. She more enjoyed bring the designated driver. Yes, a DD for high school kids. I don't know if they are allowed to leave or not but I'm sure some do.

As weird a it may be to a couple home-bodies like you and your wife who never leave the house and only communicate thru this forum be aware people can talk to each other out in the real world and they can do it in a manner that is respectful.
You both have gutter minds plain and simple.

You are so funny. I really don't get the home bodies thing... you really are very clueless. If I saw some dude talking to my teenage daughter... I'd be pissed.
