Not a surprise. My Son is a junior at FHS and according to one of his teacher's Folsom High is known to have one of the worst drug problems in the Sac area. She said that other schools have gang/violence issues, but FHS's issue is drugs. Very disturbing. My Son says it is everywhere and put in his face every day. I wish they would do periodic searches with drug sniffing dogs, like they did at my school when I was a kid.

Folsom is not an exempt area, no where is. Drugs are everywhere. I would think in this area of influential people with 6 figure incomes that they should be paying closer attention to this problem. I hope they find where he got his supply from that is most important.
It is unfortunate that kids have to resort to selling brownies with pot at school. Pretty sad.

He may be elgible for 3 strikes as he was seen talking on his cell phone while driving and he allegedly washed out the baking pan with a hose that didn't have water shut off control device on it.

The funny part about all this is he'll probably do more time than the girl who almost killed the two cyclists.

Don't they have a full time FPD officer there AT the school? WTF are they doing? They sure aren't directing traffic and apparently aren't acting as a visual deterrent.

There is no police presence at the high school, budget cuts. They have not been there for most of the school year!!! Not good.

Caution against perpetuating unsubstantiated rumors. This has no factual basis. Every school has these problems these days. As a high school parent I'm more concerned about the drugs in parents' medicine cabinets.

Didn't anyone see Less Than Zero is the late '80s?

Maybe he was like Julian and needed the money.

This tells me the kids have put one over on you. Wake up. These aren't all rumors. A kid telling her parent isn't factual enough for you? What other stats exist?

Everybody pulls the old "oh it's everywhere" line just to make themselves feel better but it's way worse then it ever was. I weep for the future.

If drugs are everywhere at FHS , how does all these students, who are on drugs, score so well on test scores? I keep hearing FHS has one of the top scoring test scores of all high schools in the area. If drugs are everwhere how do the students continually have the Top rated band in the country, conference winning athletic teams, section winners and so many seniors who get scholarships to top rated colleges?

If one really wants to find drugs they probably aren't hard to find and this probably hasn't changed since I went to school back in the early 70's. I suspect there are students who use drugs, students who exaggerate what goes on and some teachers who have agenda of some sort.

Unless EVERY student at EVERY HS was tested for drugs, NO ONE would know which schools really have a higher percentage of drug use than others.

Given the overall success of the FHS students in all areas, I suspect the drug use at FHS might be lower than other schools, who don't seem to enjoy the same success as FHS.

I've been extremely impressed with a number of truly amazing students that have come through FHS, so I prefer to give our students credit for their achievements and success, rather than express rumor mongering based upon hearsay inuendos.

I asked the same question. I was talking to a girl from FHS at a local fitness center and I knew she was straight. I asked how could all these kids do drugs but still pull A's and do well. She said they were smart kids and as soon as tests were done it was off to drug land or drinking at lunch time. Her guesstimates were something like 50% smoke cigarettes, as many drink on the weekends and a lot drink off campus at lunch. Many do XTC or smoke pot and the growing fad was prescription pills.

There needs to be some undercover operation done to find out the real story.
