This weekend I saw the little train giving rides on the track in front of Bel Air. I've also seen it by Cal Fit. However, I had no idea that it went all the way to Placerville.

Harsh.

I echo the "what trains?" question.

You really didn't know there are small train excursions being run on those rails? It's actually really neat and a fun ride.

What was harsh? there are tons of bike trails all over our town but only one rail road track

Come ONE Come ALL

enjoy the trails
but please also support
bringing back the trains as well
it could only add to the beauty of it all

With so many trails to ride bikes and hike, why destroy one of the few remaining train tracks? Why destroy history?

There's a point where history becomes clutter and preserving it becomes hoarding. You CANNOT ride a train all the way to Placerville. The tracks are not in good enough shape for that. I have no problem with the little sections here and there but not allowing hikers and cyclists to use the majority of rail that isn't being used is asinine.

I think I've seen one billboard once that mentioned trains running for a special occasion. I didn't realize it was regular and that one could ride to Placerville. Why the hell aren't we promoting it?

I do believe if we had it our way, the trails would follow the rails 100% of the entire route

Did a little reading quickly. Two things pop into my mind: there is a rail with trails option and it sure seems as if EDH wants trails badly.

Ya, they want just trails cause it's quick and cheap.

why can't hikers and cyclists use the trail along with the rail? It isn't like they are going to run hourly commute or freight trains out there?

There is no clutter, don't you have enough trails to ride already?

History is more important then having one more bike trail

They probably want it to be paved over

I see them frequently on Saturday by in-n-out doing rides

That's where I saw the sign but I'm rarely over there. Haven't seen one anywhere else ever.

I personally don't want it paved. I would like it exactly how it is.

Chris, there is very little historic preservation in Folsom. Can you tell me where the clutter is?
