I am entitled to my opinion. I ate there two months ago and it was what I remember it being. I would have gone there again. I guess I'm not as persnickety as some are.

I've been there several times over the last nine months and enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. No place is perfect. And where are my kids going to play with an Etch-A-Sketch while waiting?

I agree...they will be missed. They were a nice, middle kind of steak place--not as good as Sutter Street Steakhouse but not Sizzler. There should always be a place for a good, family-friendly restaurant with a solid menu.

It was only a few block from my house and from my office; I only went there for either the potato/salad combo at lunch or sometimes for a steak pick up dinner. I'd get the small marinated sirloin with the mixed greens salad. I'd eat half the steak that night and slice the other half to out on top of the salad to have the next day for lunch. I'm not a huge steak eater, but this would fit the bill for me since I'd fet two steak meals for under $20. A customer like me wasn't going to keep them in business, I didn't do it that often and their profit margin on me wasn't that high.

Oh well, I just got laid off anyway so any steaks I eat will be cooked on my own grill!

I'm sorry to hear about losing your job, if I hear of anything I'll let you know.

Even though you might not have been their biggest spending customer, your patronage helped them cover some day to day fixed costs. With so many cutting back on eating out and rising food costs, its really having an impact in this industry.

Having a corporation like Waste Connections move to another State, most defintely is going to create fallout from the loss of all those well paying jobs and sadly we are seeing it.

I'm sure our City Council had NOTHING to do with this and are probably more disappointed than the rest of us, because they have to deal with managing the ramifications of all this lost revenue, which means they will have to make more cuts in services.

I noticed this closing the other day as well. Really liked tha log cabin feel & look of the restaruant, service and food were always decent enough for us. We probably ate there 2-3 times a year, even less after our second kid came along.

Looks like the restaruant met the same fate as Malabar, another place that went under in a close proximity to TJ's. Perhaps Outback could make a business case for the location. I always compared TJ's to Outback anyway. More than likely the site will be turned into another bank or credit union.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body,
but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
"Wow! What a Ride!"

Funny you say this, I saw that the closed "$5 Dinner" place in the old Raley's shopping center is going to be Heritage Credit Union.

Guess they will store the daily cash in the ovens...

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

I'm surprised no one has blamed the closure on light rail, yet.

Are we going to blame the foreclosure of the outlet across from lemby on the shutting down of store front outlets across from taco bell on Governor Brown?
