Does anyone know of a decent restaurant in Folsom that will be open and serving brunch or dinner on Christmas Day?

I'd also like to know of any good Folsom restaurants open for dinner on Christmas Eve. A lot of places close down.

I would try to find some owned by people who don't celebrate Christmas. Of course, this year Christmas eve is on a Monday so that eliminates even more restaurants. How about Scotts? I think they were open on Thanksgiving.

Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.

Nope, but if I wanted to know, I would try using that handy little device called a phone and start calling the places I would be willing to dine at to see if they were going to be open.

If you don't mind driving a ways, you may check out truckstops on I-5 or I-80.
The other option is go to Nevada and visit one of the casinos, I'm sure they will be open on Xmas. Maybe try calling Jackson Rancheria.

I would rather be Backpacking

The Ravine is planning to close December 24th, 25th & 26th, saying that I had someone ask if we where open on Christmas Eve, 12/24. If I have enough interest/bookings I will open up either with our full a la carte menu, or do a special menu/theme just for the night.

I need about 20 people booked to be worthwhile opening. I currently have 4.

If I wanted to know, I would do the samething that leenda did - ask for references on this forum. That way I wouldn't have to try using that handy little device until I had some references to call.
Leenda, last year we went into Sacramento and ate at the Rusty Duck. It was very nice (expensive but not as bad as I thought it would be). I don't know of anywhere in Folsom. We had a thread on the the same topic last year. Here it is http://www.tomatopag...showtopic=10410

Jonathan, I will talk to my wife. We were going to go on Christmas day but Christmas eve might work. I'll check. I have a party of 5 (wife & I & three parents). Maybe we can get something going here - that would be fun!

Thanks to all of you for your responses. This is going to have to be a Christmas DAY thing.....brunch preferably. I'll check with Scott's and Slocum House. If bad comes to worse, Hop Sing will probably be open, right?

Any other input would be appreciated. Thank you!!

Last year my family and I went to that restaurant in Fair Oaks (can anyone help with the name?) Nice atmosphere inside, chickens running around outside. The food was pretty good but not great.

In response of Christmas eve. We have eaten at both Scotts and Zinfandel Grille the past two years. Both were great. Scotts, two years ago was very busy. Zinfandel Grille last year, wasn't so busy. If you have kids, I'd recommend Zinfandel Grille. Scotts does not have a kids menu.

Just did the once around Folsom. Figured I'd wait till noon or so in case some restaurants were opening for lunch after the kiddies got to open their presents.

Nothing open but Jack in the Box and IHOP on East Bidwell (both are packed), and the parking lot was full at the theatres at Iron Point at Folsom Blvd.

But THANK GOD christmas is over... now I can get on with life.

I walked with my dog around Folsom and Blue Ravine. The only lot with cars on Blue Ravine was Toyota's. It's A Grind coffee shop was open but will be closed by the time anyone reads this, and the gas stations were doing good business.
