The owner, Jeff Back, if I remember, used to run that wine bar near Zocalo in Sac.
He'll offer wines by the glass and lite bites.
I'm looking forward to it.

And, The Ravine has a pretty nice selection on wines by the glass, too. They vacuum seal and pressure the bottles with Nitrogen or Carbon dioxide in-between servings. Most upscale restaurants sell only by the bottle. Great calamai, too. Costs a little more than usual, but it's hand breaded, unlike some other chains (cough, cough, Olive Garden) that use frozen stuff from Sysco.

this list will continue to grow as I am accused of being someone else.
Maybe someday I can take part in the FolsomFun of trying to determine the imposters!

I also tried the French Onion soup. Very good, with real caramelized onions and topped with french bread and melted cheese (I believe it was Brie). Definitely not the powered soup mix. And might I add that I received excellent service. Jonathan does a great job to make sure the staff are on top of the customer's needs.

This is Gail, one of the owners of Back Wine Bar. My husband Jeff and I are opening soon. We hope to be open in mid march. We'll have lots of wine by the glass, great appetizers and wine educations seminars too.
We look forward to being a part of the Folsom community. We hope to see you soon.

I dropped in last night. Really nicely done space. Great service. The owners, Jeff and Gail were there. Jeff is a certified sommelier and as such is truly a wine expert. I'll learn a lot from him.
They've only got a few local wines, which is great because we get to try things you don't ordinarily see around here, such as a German Pinot Noir and a Tempranillo actually from Spain.
Wife and I each tasted 3 wines and we had a bruschetta appetizer.
Atmosphere is classy but casual.
I think they're on to something there, and with Mexquite on one end and the Ravine on the other, I'm guessing that center will become more popular.
Check 'em out.
