I live very near Livermore Park, and was very excited to see them working to complete the new Softball/Soccer fields. However, after they haphazardly sprayed grass seed all over the place, they seem to have just left it to sit... and it looks terrible. The grass coverage is spotty at best, and several of the trees they just planted are already dying. I understand the heat at this time of year doesn't make it the easiest time to grow new grass... but they had to know that going in.
Does anyone know what they are planning to do? Surely this isn't how they plan to leave it???

Not sure, but I also noticed the entire Prairie Oaks neighborhood common landscaped areas on Blue Ravine, Grover and Russi are looking really bad....Instead of planting grass or heat resistant plants, they have just let it die and then had someone weed eat the area...VERY tacky considering the homeowners pay $123 dollars per month to upkeep....
Americans, don't just come in one color or race.

Not sure why, but I think it partly has to do with overwatering... There are places where it appears that the seed/topsoil just washed away and other spots that are just muddy all day. It seemed like the sprinklers were always on (not sure if they changed the timing/duration yet).
I did see a "worker" there the past few weekends, spreading seed (or was it feed for the geese?)...

You want to see over-watering? Drive past Vista Del Lago, they have about 200 sprinklers covering about 50 sq ft of island plantings. Hopefully some of that run-off is going back into the lake, it's a complete waste.
...Saying what people are thinking but are afraid to say....
