Sat. are hard at this time of the year as it is the middle of soccer season. I personally like weekday parties (think 4-6 timeframe) but working parents may not fine that as easy...
Here are a few ideas that are fun
Bowling Alley (not super expensive)
Bounce Palace in Folsom
Monster Golf in Rancho Cordova
Tricks Gymnastics (not really "gymnastics but bounce house, trampolines, and this fun swing thing...my boys enjoyed at 6 not really girly) (they do everything and its somewhat reasonable price)
McDonalds on Iron Point (really cheap...4.00 per kid) they can "reserve" the play area (not exclusively) for nothing...play 30 minutes, eat happy meals, cake, presents, play 30 minutes go home) we have done numerous parties there

We have done a couple of birthdays in Bouncopolis, now called Bounce Palace - which is great because even older kids enjoy it (including teenagers!) and adults bounce for free! (keep some extra socks handy!) They give you a hostess who does pretty much everything for you!
I don't know about other parents but I prefer a weekday, evening birthday party or at the most a friday evening party as we then get the weekend to ourselves!
Folsom has so many beautiful parks that, weather permitting, you could have an outdoor party at any of the public parks that have a shamiana.
I'd like to have a b'day party at Color Me Mine (next to Bounce Palace, opposite the Folsom outlet malls) but my kids are too young for it as yet! I have seen the bigger kids have lots of fun, though! I'm sure 6 year olds would love it!
Oh and BTW, the folsom parks and rec also have great birthday party deals, though I have not attended any there as yet!

Six is probably too young for this, but you make like this idea for the future. There is a place in El Dorado Hills called the Grace Foundation. They rescue horses there and you can book birthday parties. I've never been to one, but I heard from a friend that it was awesome. It is pricey, ($300 or so) but you'd be donating to a good cause, and you'd pay this at a bounce place anyway.
The kids (10) get a 3 hour party. They learn how to groom horses, take care of them, ride them through "pony town" and I can't remember what else. My friend's daughter in 2nd grade, and loved the party.
I think the mom had brought a plastic treasure chest and had each girl select a plastic hores from it instead of a goody bag.......Anyway, just something to think about.

My Gym in Folsom is great for parties. I held both my kids party there (joint party). They both loved it. As a result I enrolled my son there but you don't need to be a member to book a party. They have parties late Friday afternoon (4ish) or on Saturday and Sunday. Personally, I like the weekend parties better since weekdays are so hectic.
