A few weeks ago, my husband was going to touch up some of our interior paint but found that our can of touch up paint was all rusted and dried up. He threw it away since it didn't have ANY information on it identifying the color, etc. Since then, we haven't been able to get any information from our builder, Elliott, regarding the brand and color of our interior wall paint. It wasn't on the cans or on any of the paperwork that we received when we moved in. We live in Riata and moved in in January 2006. Does anyone have any idea (from paperwork or your touch up paint cans) what brand and color our interior walls are?

I really don't want to have to repaint our entire interior with new paint! Thanks so much in advance for any help!

Did the can you threw away not even have the brand of paint on it? If no one answers you here regarding the color, go to a paint store or two and get those little paper thingies that have a few colors each on them. Bring them home and see if any of the colors look about right. However, a) the way colors look on the wall aren't exactly the way they look on those paper thingies and b) the older the paint is on the wall the dirtier/dingier it gets -- making it easy to see where the touch-ups are.

That's a tough one. I'd go to Kelly Moore and ask if they know and then do what Deb B said about the color swatches. Just remember as important as the color is the sheen of the paint. You can get an exact color, but if you put eggshell over flat it's gonna show.

One way to attack this problem... Clean an area where you want to touch up with a damp cloth...(preferably closer to the floor..) don't scrub it, just clean the surface lightly. Then use a razor blade to carefully remove a quarter-size chip of the paint from the wall and put in a letter envelope.

Take the chip to a paint center - Lowe's, Home Depot, or ? - and have them computer match the color and sheen... that should do it.

(Use a small amount of spackle or joint compound on the area you removed the chip and smooth it to match the wall with a putty knife, let it dry, and your ready to paint...)

Good Luck...

Lisa, we moved to Riata in May 2007. Our touchup paint is in cans from ICI and the folder included identifies it as ICI which also says Glidden, Dulux and Sinclair. Hope that helps, Sorry I didn't respond sooner.

How old is your house? Was it brand new in 2006? I know I can't believe how long I lived in my home never painting the interior, but when we finally did, I can't believe I lived with the blah interior color the house came with for so long. The home feels so much more homey now that every room has it's own color and personality.
I would rather be Backpacking

We tried getting swatches of the glidden but none matched. We also took in our attic panel and had home depot try to color match it but after an hour we left with no success.

Jan - We thought it was Glidden paint because of our other touch up cans but we haven't been able to identify the color. Does the folder or any of your cans identify a paint color for the flat paint that was used inside your house? Thanks in advance!
