As we do for every city council election, we are soliciting questions from MyFolsomites to see what questions they want anwersed. We then email the candidates and those who respond get their answers published.

Please keep the questions short and sweet. We're not looking at rambling diatribes - those will not be passed on. Basically we want to know what is important to you as a voter this November. Please use this thread to ask

Who are your major contributors / backers? Landowners, Fire Department, Police Department, others?

What do you want to see happen with S50? What do you plan on doing about S50 planning?

Do you think the city could work on and come up with some creative way to work with existing commercial property owners to entice them to lower their rents or (?) to fill the many vacant store fronts and buildings that have become a blight in our town? This also includes older parts of Folsom on E. Bidwell.

What are your thoughts about potentially implementing max/caps for city salaries and pensions?

Do you believe in keeping some open spaces around Folsom to keep it beautiful or do you want to see Folsom built out to maximum capacity?

If Folsom had the opportunity to build a new Arena for the Kings, would you support a city tax increase to help afford it or would you insist on the owners paying for it all?

Do you think it is a proper use of eminent domain to seize land in the name of public benefit, such as taking land from a private individual that is deemed economically underutilized, and turning it over to a private corporation or developer that will build something that would generate a larger tax base?

Do you think it's important to ensure that the Folsom that exists today is in healthy shape economically and our empty storefronts are once again occupied before development south of 50 is approved?

Would you support public input via referendum?

What do you think of eminent domain being used not only for public use such as highways and bridges, but also for seizing land in the name of public benefit, such as taking land from a private individual and turning it over to a private corporation that will build something that would generate a larger tax base?

Do you think it's important to ensure that the Folsom that exists today is in healthy shape economically and our empty storefronts are once again occupied before development south of 50 is approved?

I'll take this a little further, even for public use, what are your views on Eminent Domain?
I would rather be Backpacking

Would you support term limits? 2 four year terms maximum?

1. List who you have received campaign contributions from in past elections, and the amounts of those contributions.

2. Please indicate any volunteer work you've done for community service organizations in Folsom.

3. Please indicate any prominant people in the community who you expect will endorse you in this upcoming election.

4. Please indicate if you have any concerns about the salaries and benefits currently being paid to the city's top management.

5. Please explain how you intend to reduce waste in city government.

6. Please explain your views on allowing development south of Hwy. 50.

7. Please disclose any relationships you have with developers in the Sacramento area.

I'm curious,

Kevin Johnson is pushing for a "Strong Mayor Initative" in the city of Sac.

Whether he is successful or not, Sac city people get to vote on who is their Mayor.

IMO, in Folsom, we have the weakest Mayor (not talking about the inidividual currently in office, but the position it self).

Would you support changing the city Mayoral position to one that is elected by the voters, not by the city council?
Would you support a stronger Mayor, one where you eliminate the city Manager putting those duties on the Mayor position?

If not, why?

What is your position on developing South of US 50?

Wait until it's needed? Go as slow as reasonably possible?

Develop it ASAP for the Revenue stream? Quality of life be dammed!

Moderate growth/development rate?

And what does the environmental impact report say will happen to the quality of air we breathe. My understanding, Folsom air is worse than the downtwon Sacramento most of the summer. won't more development make it worse?
