Looks like a private waterski lake/ course. How large are they and where are they ?

Another great  day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

It is a water sport lake. Boats pull wakeboarders/skiers through the lake to do jumps off ramps, etc, and then loop around the islands at the end. I have photographed events there before.

There are a lot of them around here. This is a great spot for competitive three-event waterskiing training.

so, exactly where are these, are they located near the river or near the delta?

Does anyone know, are they dug down to where they naturally fill from the water table, or do they have to keep on adding water as it drains in the soil and evaporates into the air?

I'm just wondering.
Where have all the flowers gone?

Pleasent Grove, Rio Linda are some locations. A buddy of mine at work is a pro skier (he was even in the movie Waterworld!)

Some of these are agricultural land plots that they have just carved out to makes these training facilities. I guess you cannot build housing developments on these plots but you can apparently carve out a groove, fill it up, and train water skiers.

The ones that I have been to were built by creating their own levees....and then filling it in with water. I do not know what was done to keep water from draining down.
