We went to Karen's yesterday for lunch and saw it was closed. Saw the sign. Is someone going to build something in there? I think it will hurt

It's private property the city had been leasing during the redevelopment of Sutter Street and construction on the railroad block. They don't have the Redevelopment funding any more, so they ended their lease.
Knowing the past helps deciphering the future.
