Rip them down, tape them to their front door, then set them on fire. That usually gets the point across!

Folsom Municipal Code prohibits posting of garage sale signs on public property (stop signs, telephone poles, open space areas in the city right of way). You're allowed one sign on your own property for a garage sale.
The City website urges good citizens to take down garage sale signs that are illegal (posted on public poles, signs, right of way). This means just about every sign you see out there, including lost pets, real estate signs, etc.
If you want to put a sign somewhere other than your own private property, you need to go through the city sign permit process. Then the city assigns you a sign approval number that you have to put on each sign you post in public.

Some silly rule is NOT going to stop any of us or anyone else from putting For sale or garage sale signs at major entries to the location... simple as that---
I would not take down anothers sign as well....
City cant enforce it- and doubt it would...

Another great day in the adventure of exploration and sight.

The City does indeed enforce municipal code regarding these signs. They use Code Enforcement officers, volunteers with Folsom Caps Program, and private citizens to remove the signs. You'd be surprised at the number of signs disposed of weekly in the dumpster behind the Police Department - many from local real estate companies that didn't go through the process of getting a permit.
Here's the information regarding signs and garage sales. http://www.folsom.ca...46&ar=1011&st=3
